Welcome to Greyville Primary School
Greyville School at its present address has gone through many name changes. The school is some 80 years old and has changed educational functions many times. It started off as Mitchell Girl’s High School , then became Bechet College of Education , then to Umlazi College of Education and when the Surat Hindu School in Prince Edward Street, Durban closed its doors in 2000, the school was relocated to Greyville and our school was renamed Greyville School.
We are a CBD school catering for mainly disadvantaged and refugee learners. We do not have the ‘bells and whistles’ of ex-model C school and make do with the least amount of resources. We do not have any recreational fields like normal schools and our school tarmac area serves as a playground.
We have almost 650 mainly BLACK learners attending who reside in the inner city areas of eTHEKWINI. Our school fee is one of the lowest in the Public School Sector and we rely on the goodwill of the donor community.
We are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of our learners, educators and parent community. We have a strategic plan of taking the school from GOOD to GREAT!
YOU ARE INVITED TO MAKE THAT DIFFERENCE!
